Eleven months have passed.
Eleven months since everything changed.
Eleven months of questions.
Eleven months of doubt and confusion.
Eleven months of trying to forget.
But it's not that easy.
You can't just forget something that changes your life.
You can't just pretend it never happened.
You can't just go back to the way things were.
The tears don't vanish.
The consequences don't disappear.
The changes are permanent.
The pain can't be forgotten.
The memories will never be erased.
Because in the end, life builds on everything that happened before.
No matter how much you think you can ignore it, you can't.
The agony will still be tearing at you in the moments before sleep.
The misery will still ambush you in the solace of early morning.
There is no such thing as forgetting the way things were.
There is only dealing with them.
There is only acceptance.
You can only make the most of what has happened before.
You can only try to deal with it.
Drowning the pain gets easier with each passing day.
Stepping away from everything that happened is smoother.
Losing the chains that hold you back takes place faster.
And slowly but steadily pieces are coming back together.
Maybe, just maybe, everything is starting to work once again.
